Servants With A Task is a unique program at Fir Point Bible Camp that makes it possible for High School campers to remain at camp as servants in the camps that follow yours. Being selected for the SWAT team is a privilege and an honor.
SERVANTHOOD
Why do you want to be a cabin leader or be a part of the S.W.A.T. Team? The campers generally look up to cabin leaders and the S.W.A.T.s as being mature and having an important position. They are and they do!
Jesus told the disciples the truth: “Whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave” (Mt. 20:26-27). The path to glory is the path of selfless servanthood. Jesus used Himself as an example: “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many” (Mt. 20:28).
Being a cabin leader or a S.W.A.T. Team member may have its times of privilege and honor, but God has called us to be servants. Why else would we be asked to present ourselves as “a living sacrifice?” Being a servant is not a glory job … It’s hard work.
Being a servant does not mean that you let the campers push you around. It means sacrificing what you would rather do for what God wants you to do. Cabin leaders and S.W.A.T. Team members who humble themselves and become servants are the ones who are loved and respected the most.
